Mo'ther is an a personal project that explores themes of change and its relationship to all beings, how cyclical, inevitable and required it is to continue moving forward.

"They call it mo'ther.
It seeks and gathers spirits of those that passed: animals, vegetation, insects, even us. To bring them home again."

"... A witch stone?", Fia asked.
The Questionable Scientist held it up just enough for the light to catch its glimmer.
"Yes, dear one. It's used as a window to see other spirits and worlds.
Now, tell me. What do you see?"

For this story, we follow Fia and her older sister Wren:
searching to summon the spirit of Mother Nature, in hopes to save their beloved pet.

We open in an enchanted autumnal forest. We then see two girls, one slightly taller, leaning against a tree.
She’s holding a basket while keeping an eye on her younger sister, who’s on her knees innocently, eyes scanning.

The sprites start to float into the forest, and Fia urges Wren to follow them.
Wren doesn’t really want to go further, but is willing to bear with it and accompany her. We don’t really know why yet.

More sprites appear and combine, until a large spirit forms in front of them.
It’s magical, beautiful, intimidating.

A hand shovel digs into the ground. Wren and Fia lay down the basket together. They pat the dirt mound firmly but tenderly.
They look at the mound for a little bit longer as if saying their last goodbyes, before walking away.

In this sequence, we follow Fia and Wren:
two kids from a remote village on a routine forage for mushrooms, when they come across a familiar entity.

"Just don't get too close."

"Become yourself"
